VÉTHEUIL and its church go around the world with MONET

The impressionist painter Claude MONET is probably the most celebrated artist in the world.

His paintings are exhibited in 35 countries:

Algeria, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States and Venezuela.

His paintings (about 800 works out of a total of 2000 works produced throughout his life(*) are hung on the walls of more than 200 art institutions. Enough to make you dizzy.

If we examine the catalog of his works in public collections, the word VÉTHEUIL appears more than 100 times in the title of a painting, almost as many times as the word ARGENTEUIL or GIVERNY (both before and after MONET's stay in Vétheuil). It is the title of NYMPHEAS which is in the hit parade of Monet's work (more than 170 times on 800 works).

Some examples:

Go around the world visiting museums and you will regularly find yourself in front of the village of VÉTHEUIL and its church. Only one conclusion can be drawn: all roads lead to Vétheuil!
